Barbara Gittings and Kay Lahusen on the spirit of the gay movement

Barbara Gittings and Kay Lahusen on the rewards of a life fighting for LGBTQ rights. Barbara Gittings and Kay Tobin Lahusen were both members of Daughters of Bilitis (D.O.B.), a lesbian activist organization founded in San Francisco in 1955. Gittings went on to organize the New York chapter of D.O.B. and edited its journal, The Ladder, while Lahusen worked as a photojournalist.
